Periyar Latex Ltd. is a public company jointly promoted by Rubber Board, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, and self-help groups called Rubber Producers Societies. The Company has been in operation since 1990.
The latex centrifuging factory of the company is set on 1.82 ha of land on the picturesque banks of the river Kaliyar in Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam District, Kerala State, India.
Periyar Latex offers single-centrifuged latex (60%) and double-centrifuged latex as per customer specification. The versatile intermediates find applications in a wide variety of products from balloons to surgical gloves, baby feeders to industrial aprons.
The company is actively involved in transfer of technology and works hand-in-hand with Rubber Board for productivity enhancement, quality improvement and empowerment of small holders.
The mission before Periyar Latex is to emerge as a market driven, technology-based, quality.

The rubber plantation sector in India is dominated by small growers around one million. The Rubber Board has been promoting voluntary institutions of small holders by organizing them into self-help groups called Rubber Producers Societies (RPSs).
